These terms are built around one core rule: the real world comes first. A quest is always optional, and your own judgment is more important than completing it.

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms govern your use of HangQuest’s website, mobile app, quests, events, rewards, and related services (the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Notice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 15 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms where required by law. Do not use HangQuest if you cannot agree to these Terms.

3. Real-world safety comes first

HangQuest encourages exploration, but it does not replace your own judgment. You are responsible for deciding whether a location, route, event, activity, weather condition, transportation choice, venue, or neighborhood is appropriate and safe for you. Always stay aware of your surroundings. Stop and leave if anything feels unsafe or inappropriate.

4. Rules for quests and locations

Do not use HangQuest while driving, biking, crossing streets, operating equipment, or doing anything that needs your full attention. Do not trespass; enter restricted areas; violate laws, posted rules, venue rules, park rules, or university policies; approach wildlife; take unsafe risks; or follow a quest instruction that appears unsafe or inappropriate. HangQuest is not an emergency or navigation service. Contact emergency services or local authorities in an emergency.

5. Accounts and acceptable use

Keep your account information accurate and protect your credentials. Do not impersonate another person, submit false proof, manipulate points or rewards, interfere with the service or its security, scrape the Services, introduce harmful code, or use HangQuest unlawfully or abusively. We may investigate suspected violations and suspend, limit, or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, partners, the Services, or legal rights.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the photos, captions, claims, and other content you submit. You give HangQuest a non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, review, moderate, and display that content as needed to operate and secure the Services. You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit it. Do not submit identifiable photos of another person without their permission, or content that is unsafe, illegal, deceptive, infringing, harassing, or otherwise violates our Community Content & Photo Rules.

7. Partners, events, and rewards

Partners, venues, and event hosts are independent third parties unless we expressly say otherwise. A listing or quest does not mean HangQuest endorses, controls, or guarantees them. Rewards are subject to the terms shown at redemption, including eligibility, availability, points cost, quantity, expiration, location, merchant restrictions, and applicable third-party terms. Points have no cash value and are not transferable unless we expressly allow it.

8. Subscriptions

Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple or Google through the applicable app store. The price, billing period, renewal, cancellation, refund, and trial terms shown in the store and paywall apply. You can manage a subscription through your platform account. Deleting a HangQuest account does not itself cancel an app-store subscription.

9. Intellectual property

The Services, HangQuest name, logos, designs, software, and non-user content are owned by joseyCode or its licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or exploit them except as permitted by law or with written permission.

10. Service availability and disclaimers

HangQuest is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Quests, maps, places, events, partner information, routes, reward availability, and other content may be incomplete, inaccurate, changed, unavailable, or unsuitable. We do not guarantee that they will be safe, available, accurate, complete, or suitable for you.

11. Changes and termination

We may modify the Services or these Terms as HangQuest develops. We will post an updated effective date and provide additional notice where required by law. We may suspend or end access when reasonably necessary to protect people, the Services, or legal rights.
