HangQuest helps people discover real places, quests, events, and rewards. This notice explains what information we handle, why we handle it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use HangQuest, we may collect account details (such as your display name, email address, account ID, and session information); optional profile and onboarding choices; device and technical information needed to operate and secure the service; quest activity, points, items, reward redemptions, and reports; and content you choose to submit, including photos, captions, and Discovery claims.

2. Location, camera, and photos

With your permission, HangQuest may use approximate or precise location to show the map, find nearby quests, enable proximity features, and record a Discovery claim. Camera and photo-library access are used when you choose to submit quest proof or a Discovery photo. You can change permissions in your device settings. Some features will not work without the related permission.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and manage accounts; operate maps, quests, points, rewards, and subscriptions; review submitted content; secure the service and prevent fraud or abuse; respond to requests; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information as a product.

4. Service providers and sharing

We use providers that process information to help us operate HangQuest, including Clerk for authentication, Mapbox for maps and location-enabled features, RevenueCat and Apple or Google for subscriptions, Tremendous for eligible reward fulfillment, and hosting, database, and object-storage providers. We may also disclose information when required by law or needed to protect people, rights, or the service. We do not make your precise location, route, or proof photos public by default.

5. Partners, venues, and events

Businesses, venues, and event hosts are independent third parties unless we expressly say otherwise. A HangQuest listing does not give a partner access to your personal information. If a future feature involves a different data-sharing arrangement, we will update this notice and provide any required choices before it is used.

6. AI-assisted internal tools

HangQuest may use AI-assisted tools internally to help operators draft quest content. A person reviews content before it is published. We do not use AI to make a final decision about your reward eligibility, account, or safety-related outcome without first providing appropriate notice and safeguards.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed to operate HangQuest, handle rewards, protect security, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Our current implementation target is to delete or de-identify most verified account-deletion requests within 30 days, with backup copies expiring within up to 90 days. We may retain limited relevant information for fraud, security, completed rewards, accounting, legal obligations, or an active investigation.

8. Your choices and requests

You can manage device permissions through your device settings. You can delete your account yourself at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account in the app, or request deletion without the app — see our account-deletion instructions below. For correction requests, or anything else, contact privacy@hangquest.com. We verify requests before disclosing or deleting information.

9. Age eligibility

HangQuest is intended only for people who are at least 15 years old and is not directed to children under 15. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 15. If you believe a person under 15 has provided personal information to HangQuest, contact privacy@hangquest.com.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security. Please protect your device and account credentials and report suspected security issues to legal@hangquest.com.

11. Changes to this notice

As HangQuest changes, we may update this notice. We will post the updated notice and effective date here and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by law.
